In view of the growing importance of Biochemistry both as a basic science as well as a broad-based discipline in various aspects. Iswar Saran Post Graduate College, Prayagraj established the Department of Biochemistry in 2018 under the self-finance program. Apart from the University of Allahabad, it is the only College in which a three-year B.Sc. (UG) degree program in Biochemistry has been initiated. Principal Prof. Anand Shankar Singh performed a great effort in establishing the department. Dr. Anurag Mishra is the founder and Convener of this department. At present, there are two faculty members Dr. Anurag Mishra and Ms. Smriti Chaudhari are working in the department. This department is now working with high potential in basic science as well as broad-based discipline. Across the year, a list of student-oriented and subject-oriented activities is performed in the department that enhances students' skills and knowledge and further builds a roadmap for their career growth. Different expert's lectures and outreach activities are organized for proper understanding about the role of Clinical Biochemistry, Human Health & Disease, Biochemical Analysis, and Molecular Genetics in Human life. Now, overall 38 seats are available for interested students to get admission to B.Sc. I Biochemistry with the following subject combination [Biochemistry + Chemistry + Botany or Zoology].
